Heather's First Arizona Adventures 04/02/2025 to 04/10/2025
Brian has been here before, but the kids are finally old enough to be left in the care of their aunt and let Heather come as well.
We tried to get in as many of the things they wanted to do and see.
Titan Missile Silo, Karchner Caverns (no pictures allowed), St. Xavier del Bac, and more.
With the exception of a few days, the weather was great.
Hiking at Adero Canyon on the first day
Next adventure was the Apache Trail - some paved, lots of dirt
Enjoying the scenery
Ah, they like each other
Tonto National Monument
An old pueblo dwelling.
It's not huge but so interesting
Pueblo dwellings always had a view
George & Brian.
Heather, taking in the view. Her first cliff dwelling
Now in Tucson at San Xavier del bac.
On the hill overlooking the mission is the little grotto. The shrine honors the Holy Mother at Grotto of Lourdes
Inside the mission. I love this simple dome decorations
And of course the ornate
The Titan Missle Silo - home of a disarmed Titan Missle.
The crew had to dispose of cigarettes when entering. They could smoke like crazy in the control room, but not until then
The simulation of a launch
Heather blissfully turned the key and killed 20 million. It is a sobering reminder.
Up in crews quarters. I love this sign. A gentle reminder that you are sitting on a bomb
Stopping at Sunset Point rest area as we travel north on I-17 one day
Up in Sedona on Little Horse Trail
Brian on the rocks
Heather clearing a little rock from the trail. Just kidding
After hiking we went to Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village for something refreshing to drink
Us by one of the fountains.
Last day - up in Jerome.
