Yes, it is ANOTHER ruin. You know we love these places.
Tuzigoot was built by the Sinagua between 1100 and 1450 AD. and at its apex had over 100 two-storied rooms. Although very little of the original structures still exist, the Park Service has done a very nice job of recreating one of the rooms including the roof top living space.
Not far from the ruins, in fact you can see it from the rooftop, is the Tavasci Marsh, part of the Dead Horse State Park. Famed as a birding area, we decided to stop by and see some birds. Well, I guess we need some help in that area because all we saw was one jack rabbit and one green bird. Whatever. We enjoyed the area very much and we think we will go back.
